CPR Certification | Saving Lives - One Shock At a Time

The American Heart Association has been at the forefront of saving lives for over sixty years. From early advances in CPR to their current research in reducing cardiovascular disease and stroke, the AHA is committed to saving lives in every community!

And now, so can you!

Here in Utah, recent legislation passed by Rep. Rich Cunningham (South Jordan) is bringing life-saving equipment to the very places that need it most – our Schools.

House Bill 118 (HB 118) appropriates state funds so schools can afford to have life-saving AED’s in the office, on the court and on the fields.

If you have been watching the news or reading the newspaper over the past year, you will recognize that AED’s and CPR have been used around our state to save our children, our neighbors, and our friends (Utah State Basketball, Orem HS Football).

The AHA—along with our partners the UHSAA, the Utah PTA, State Superintendents, State Fire Chiefs and others—has been active in creating this state-wide fundraiser to ensure that AED’s will be placed in every Utah community – BUT we need your help.

Schools are asked to “match” state supplied grants, so beginning in August and continuing into September the AED Football for Heart Fundraiser will take place at the first home football game of the season for every high school in the state! This herculean effort will take a combined effort from every community, each uniting for the mutual goal of SAVING LIVES!

As was mentioned earlier, the AHA continues to be at the forefront in developing lifesaving skills and research to save lives in every community. Let’s prove that this is still the case by combining with our fellow community members to make this fundraiser a success.
