Heartsaver® CPR AED

 

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to know how to perform CPR or to obtain a certificate for CPR to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. This course is highly recommended for daycare workers, school teachers, security personnel, summer camps, work, babysitters, as well as construction workers. This course is NOT designed for healthcare providers.

Using Heartsaver® CPR AED in schools

This course may be offered in elementary, middle, and high school settings over multiple class periods using standard student and instructor materials and a school version of the course completion card.

 

Do not take this Course if you are caring for patients. Please see BLS for Healthcare Providers (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers), this is the complete CPR course working with patients. American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR AED Certificate for people in or entering the medical professions or if you are a student with clinical rotations (ex: Nursing Schools, PA schools, EMT) in a healthcare facility. Coverage:

 

  • Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care

  • Adult CPR and AED use

  • Optional modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking

  • Optional written test

 

 

Audience: 

 

Heartsaver® CPR AED for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including:

  • Security Guards

  • Airline Personnel

  • Police Officers

  • Firefighters

 

It is also appropriate for lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace, and family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
